Robert Goodman began producing fine wines in 1977 with the sole vision of creating an exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon. He has achieved and surpassed his original vision. While Cabernet Sauvignon has remained the flagship for the micro-winery, the list of varietals has grown to include Humboldt County Zinfandel, Humboldt Pinot Noir, Humboldt & Carneros Chardonnay and even a late harvest Zinfandel, reminiscent of a fine Port wine.
Located on the corner of 10th and I St. in Arcata, CA, Robert Goodman Wines has a magnificent location delivering the perfect climate to create and age handcrafted wines. This incredibly ideal location for a winery is not suitable for growing grapes, so his Napa Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Howell Mountain’s Beatty Ranch and Polaris Vineyards in Napa; his Pinot Noirs are now made exclusively from organically grown Humboldt County grapes and his Chardonnay is from the Sangiacomo Family vineyards in the Carneros Region of Sonoma County.
Visit their Machine Works Restaurant and Bar for great food, wine and cocktails.
